Missions
Redeemer supports the work of the church in other countries through prayers, financial and material contributions, and direct involvement. It is an important part of the ministry of the church in spreading the Gospel to those outside of the United States.
Our work in missions has included the financial and prayer support of individual missionaries, sending supplies and materials to help international mission groups, and sending groups to Belize to help communities in need.
Supporting Missions
Belize
Each spring, a dedicated team from Redeemer Lutheran Church travels to Belize with a shared mission of service, fellowship, and spiritual growth. This group provides practical assistance through small construction projects and essential home repairs, improving living conditions for families in need.
The team’s daily service includes intentional ministry. After a morning of construction and repair work, participants seperate for men’s and women’s ministry sessions, creating space for a deeper connection in faith. In the late afternoons, the team shifts its focus to the next generation by leading a children’s ministry program after school, offering activities, lessons that nurture spiritual development.
Looking ahead, the 2027 mission will expand its impact by incorporating scholarship interviews for students pursuing high school and college education.
Missionary Support
Rev. Jonathan and Anita Clausing serve the Lord as career missionaries through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Eastern Africa, based in Kenya. As the coordinator of this area’s Mission Training Center (MTC) programs, Jonathan supports existing MTC programs by teaching lay leaders, evangelists and trainers and providing oversight and encouragement to local coordinators. He also cultivates new requests for MTCs into functioning projects and maintains, develops and provides translation supervision for the MTC curriculum.
