Redeemer Lutheran Preschool: Daily Schedule

Opening

  • Students will do action songs or read stories with the teacher while students are arriving.
  • The daily schedule will be reviewed and calendar and the pledge will be done at this time.

Exploration Stations

  • 10 stations are set-up around the room and each student will visit every station once throughout the week in a small group.
  • Students are encouraged to use good manners, to share, and to be responsible for the supplies and toys being used.

Snack

  • Children learn to say or sing prayers at snack time.
  • Healthy snacks are provided and coordinated with lessons or themes

Group Time

  • Curriculum themes provide students the opportunity to discover, explore and grow.
  • Lessons involve basic letter recognition (Zoo-phonics curriculum), color recognition shape recognition and counting.

Music/Art/Show and Tell/Library

  • Students will have the opportunity to enjoy one of these activities each day they are here.
  • Students will engage in singing, dancing and the use of a variety of musical instruments.
  • Various art mediums are used to allow students the freedom of expression.
  • Students will have the opportunity to speak in front of a small group of students and to share about a personal item that they brought for show and tell.
  • Once a week students will get the opportunity to check out a book from our library for the week to take home and enjoy.

Jesus Time

  • Bible Stories are presented daily with application to child's life. (Voyages curriculum)
  • A bible verse is introduced weekly.
  • Christmas and Easter are presented with a Christian emphasis.

Physical Activity

  • Outdoor classroom play area available. (weather permitting)
  • Large room for indoor activities. (parachute, ball skills, bean bags, etc.)
  • Activities help develop both large and fine motor skills.

Story Time & Closing

  • Children hear a variety of stories and rhymes connected with themes.
  • Children have the opportunity to contribute personal prayers with closing prayer and song.
