Baptisms

Holy Baptism is one of two sacraments in the Lutheran Church. We believe that it is the Means of Grace through which the Holy Spirit creates and strengthens saving faith and supplies the forgiveness of sins. Following the teaching of Holy Scripture, we baptize infants as well as adults. The usual method of baptism is that of pouring or sprinkling water over the head of the baptized. Since the Sacrament of Holy Baptism marks a person's formal entrance into the Church, it is usually always performed during regular public worship of the congregation. Due to time constraints, it is preferable to schedule a baptism on the 2nd, 4th, or 5th Sundays of the month, Sundays when Holy Communion is not celebrated.
